        In Zululand, AmaQwathi, are called Mthethwa who are Bafokeng Sothos – part of their praise names are Muthwa, Nyambose, Ntshakala (Shakala or Shaka) and Mofokeng. They are also the core of what King Shaka built the Zulus from, along with the Qwabe. Dingiswayo/Godongwane who led the Mthethwa people and was killed by Zwide. The people who call themselves Xhosa come from a structure called AmaGosa or AmaKhoza or AmaKxhosa (ngesiNdebele) or AmaXhosa which is the old Elder’s council of the combined Nguni Nation. That was the word Xhosa means = elder and seer of God.

        Fikeni = Bafikeng = Mfingo = Mfengu = Mbengo (Biyela/Biyane people, or actually a combination of Myeza and Biyela people – the Biyela are the Zulu clan (from the Royal Zulu family who ran a Sabela city or a city of Refuge where you could go if you had killed someone accidentally and uSabele khona) that bore the Mkhize clan). The Eastern Cape people are split into 2 groups: namely, the Nkomo or Fula = Faku (thus the word Khafula, which is what we called ourselves) people and the Hlahla or Mabasa or Mabaso people of the Ntungwa or Sibiya clan.

        There are more than 100m Fula people in Africa in Ithiopia (where we come from), West and Central Africa and they are cattle herders = Khoi or Nkomo or Khomo people of the Sibiya people and in South Africa where a lot call themselves Mvulane or Mvula or Pula (like Lesotho and Batswana) and Fula and Faku. Fula also = Buya = Bula = Biya = Bila = Vila = Viya = Vela = Fela = Pela = Piya = Bela (as in Ntombela = Tobia = Topia = Ithiopia). This is why Africa was called IthiyoPIA or IthiyoBIA = Umhlaba wo Biya. it is also why there are 5 countries with BIA in their name: GamBIA, ZamBIA, EthioPIA, LiBYA and ColomBIA – majority people of Southern African descent – there are over 200m blacks in South America – the same place where both King Cetshwayo and King Dinizulu were kept in prison). Also called the Xaba or Shaba or Saba or Sheba or Shiba (oMkhwanazi or Vanwa’Nathi or Monganathi/Maonathi or Makua-Nyathi or Makua-Nyai) or Siba or Sibi people. The Side or Lukhulu come from Nsinde (a Zulu house that I come directly from which was King Dinizulu’s house, otherwise known as Mgwaba or Jamela or Nzamela or Jamane or Jama or Sibande or Sibanda or Mathe/Ncanana house of the Zulu). My Mom grew up here and it is the house of Kings and thus is technically a Zwane house as uZwane is the house of abaNtwana or former kings. Lukhulu means Mthiyane or Mthania people – the Sibiya clan that mated with the Jama clan to produce the Senzangakhona clan. They are called Sokhulu and like the Ndlanzi come from the Dosini or Cele people of Southern Africa, now, headquartered in South Coast but originally like most of the Eastern Cape, were the occupants of Durban or Dubane or Dubela = Ndobe-Rwa or Dube-Qwabe or Dube-Lawa or Dube Lawi people.

        There are 3 dynasties of Zulu living in Eastern Cape, namely, King Shaka’s or Ishaka or Sanga or Dlanga or Mhlanga (Ndebele = Nzuza or Zizi or Gegana = Dosini, Nsele or Cele or in Zwane terms Cengesi-Ntshosho/Zotsho). Then you have Dingane or Madzikane or Dikela (eluBhaceni and surrounding clans) – this is the same word. In Nguni or Bantu languages these words are the same word: Nyai and Nyika. If you do to Dikela what you do to Nyika to turn it into Nyai, then you will see that you get Madzikane or Dikane or Dingane, basically Kela = Kane/Kani or Ngwane or Ngani. If you lived in Mpumalanga or KZN, you would know that Kela or Sokhela is the surname and praise name for uMgwezane or Mkheshane or Khetse people called AmamNdzudza or in Zulu Nzuza or Zizi or Zizwane (which is how they are Zwane people called Amangwe, Dolomba/Cebekhulu and Ndiweni (Kheswa)). The last dynasty is called Mpande. Mpande is also called Phathe or Pate or Pale or Phale or Phalet or Mbali (meaning, literally, flower as in Kimbali or Kimberley) or Mpanda, Banda or Sibanda or Mgwaba or Gaba or Bhayi (Port Elizabeth and surrounds – all those people are Zulu) or Mbai or Pai (kuBeSuthu – makuthiwa sivela kubeSuthu, they are talking about Pedis who are the same as Tswanas or Bomvana or Mpofana – that is what Tswanas are oBomvana). Even the Gcaleka’s are Zulu. They are Mkhwanazi. I live in a Mkhwanazi Township called eSikhawini in the heart of Zululand and I can confirm to you, it is mini-Xhosaland here when you start comparing the name places and the surnames etc. There is another eSikawini in Cele-Bhaca-Mpondo land in lower KZN and the name places repeat themselves about 3 or 4 times in EC and KZN. See, eSikhawini is sandwiched between Qwabe and KwaMthethwa (eMpangeni to St Lucia – also Mthiyane or Cele territory). So, to really understand who we are, we have to drop the language classifications because they are deceiving. Let us look at each other as Nguni only and take it from there and Nguni includes Sotho as Sothos libate themselves with Matebele. So, to find out who you are, you have to answer the question: “Where do I fit in, in the Nguni classification of Southern African people?”

        AmaXesibe, make up the Mthethwa clan and included in them are Ndlela kaSompisi – King Shaka and King Dingaan’s trusted head of Army. He was killed by Dingaan and his people fled to Eastern Cape. There they became the Xhosa nation. Ndlela, Ntuli (AmaBhele (Shaka-Dingane) is the single largest group of Zulus in the Province, followed closely by amaZizi/Dlamini (Shaka).

        Abantu basemakhaya or ezilalini – which by the way literally means the same tribe i.e. Makhaya tribe = Melali or Malawi (Malawu) or Malinga or Meru or Mbedu or Mbedwini = Qwabe-Nqetho = Makhanya = Mahaye= Makhaye = Magaye = Ngai = Gai = Khai (where the words TransKEI and CisKEI come from) = Gumbi = Nkupi = Ngobe = Kobi = Kobo = Ngcobo (there are a lot of Ngcobo people in KZN, especially in Durban where most Eastern Cape Zulu-Xhosas are from – also, Mfusi = Mfuze = Afuze (Nigeria)) = Sbiya house – the Ngcobo even say: Sibiya ngeziNKOMO (Mphankomo, Jolinkomo, Majola – AmaWushe or AmaWuse or Emmaus or Hausa (Nigeria) or Aussa (Ethiopia) people – along with their partner tribe called Fulani or Mvulane or Faku or Fakude or Fulatha or Ephrata
        or Fakathi or Fakazi or Fokoti or Phakathi or BaKhathi or Makhathi(ni) or Bakatse or BaGazi or BaGuzi or BaGazu or BaGau or BaGcau – read old pre-colonial maps – Eastern Capers were called Khafula or Kaffrarians (=Khafula-Lia/Lela/Lwane/Dela = Gafudana = Zwane/Zingelwane or Zingelwayo clan) along with the Sothos), abafokazana (Bafokeng/MaFikeni) beBIYA ngamaHlahla (VhaHlengwe or Hleke or Mabasa or Mabaso or amaHalaHala or maDladla or MaNyanja or Njanya). . This is the Cele or Ndosi or Dosini people of the Hala-Thembu or Mhlazana as they are called within the Zingelwayo or Zela or Zwane or Zeroua (Namibia) or Zweni or Ntweni or Ndiweni people of Sibiya clan. The other part is Zembethe or Zebediela or Zethembe which includes Gazu/Gau/Gcau/Sau which bore the Mpangalala or Mpingangala or Bakgatla as they are called amongst the Sothos who then bore the Sotobe or BeSoto. Sotobe was a keen warrior of King Shaka and the Zulu and was taken to see the Queen with King Cetshwayo but came back much later with a white boy. (Still no-one can explain beside slave raids how so many Zulus ended up in South America) Needless to say, the rest is history and now we have the whole country of Zulu people who will deny their heritage vehemently. This only started after 1994 because of dirty ANC politics. In KZN today, the people who understand Xhosa best live eMakhaya because Xhosa is old-school Zulu like how Zimbabwean Ndebele is old-school Zulu. Even Sotho words can sometimes be gleaned directly from old Zulu because we used to speak all languages until apartheid said we should speak just one.

        One last thing, Khoza = Kxhosa = Xhosa = Gosa = Ela. That is why the Northern KZN surname of the Nkosi clan called Maoela who maintain that they are Sothos (I think it is safe to maintain that all Zulus are Suthus and that all Suthus are Zulus). If I had a dollar for every Zulu nation that comes from Suthus…), Maoela = Maonkosi = Monga-Nkosi = Makua-Nkosi = Manunkosi = Manukuza = Shangaan. Need, I remind you that Soshangane was king of the Gaza or Gwaza (of which Rharhabe’s are a part, as the nation that is supposed to be ruling the lower Eastern Cape people). Eli = Inge = Ingwe = Nkosi = Nkwe (kuBeTswana and Sotho) = Mweli = first born in the Ndaba clan – the Dube-Lovedu-Lobengula-Ndobe superclan of Africa comes from Ndaba or Apollo (in Ghana the Dumisa people of the Akhan = Angwani or Hangwani or baNgwane or Halani or Harani or Hlane or Sane or Mdlani or Darani or Drani or Drake or Drakens or Dlange or Ndlela or Sela (or Sele or Nsele) or Hlela or Sheya or Seya or Siya or Bosia or Bosani or Posani etc.) or Mpolo or Mbolo or Mpondo or Mbuthu or Mbotho or MPhotho or MPhuthu or MPutu – the Zwane khanda in KZN is called Mbolobeni. (An Aside, Drakensbek = Dlangesbheke = Dlange-Bhele = Ndlela-Bhele and that is why kugcwele oNdlela around Drakensberg and Lesotho.

        The Gcaleka’s are Zulu Kings from the Qwabe clan. They ranked higher than the lower Eastern Cape King and so they took it when they moved there as a lower ranking king cannot rule over a higher ranking one. I still think uGcaleka is supposed to lead the Mozambican Zulus called abaNdawu. What happened to King Soshangane’s dynasty in any case? These include the Zimbabweans.

        If you want to see who we are, then we have to start looking at Nguni clans and not Zulu clans because oMkhwanazi baseMpangeni abehlukile from oMkhwanazi base Eastern Cape or Cape Town. People don’t know that the townships Nyanga and Langa, in Cape Town, were settled by Zulu people. So was Macassar (Indonesia) and Manenburg (Indonesia-Phillipines) but some of these were resettled from Asia like the Wushe- the Wushe were in Taiwan – just google Wushe + Taiwan and look for pictures and look at your cousin and look at the date of the pictures. (Isigodlo saseNdulo samaWushe sikwaNongoma nasoLundi, by the way and they protect the Zulu King) It is all Zulu people. Zulu people had all kinds of features, straight hair, curly hair, short nose, long nose, big nose, blond hair, blue eyes – look up Melanesian people of Pacific etc. but divide and rule killed this nation. And it is the BeSotho or Sotobe Zulus that bared the brunt.

        King Shaka was a Zulu King of Mpondo origins, maternally. That is why wayebizwa ngoMlilwana or Ilwana or the Pokomo or Mphankomo people.

    the amaqwathi started to migrate to many areas of south africa after the 1880 anticolonial revolution. the house of Dikela wich is the main house will never gain its status as his grand sons are no more concerned about the kingdom and its rituals. for eg. Nqele was buried in the northren free state farms following his death in 1916. some lot of history lied in his grave.

I have been tracing my ancestry and ended up in Free State were my great grandfather Nqele died but still don’t have the name of the farm because my father was born in the 40’s therefore difficult for him to tell me more. I really want to trace my ancestry until in the Eastern Cape.

        As i was saying he was the grand farther of farther like you he is my great grandfather, My advantage is one as to the issue of Nqele i lived in the free state not far from his grave, his grandson Ntengwane did somenthing amaizing before he past away, i was young by then but i can re call he sid to my farther he is not gonna pass away although he want to before he make his parents tomb stones he was by then very old. He did them and little later he passed away and was burried at the township of Kanana Orkney. He left us history, i must say. Again i may say you receive history by fortunes not by your presence when it was happening. I visit Ragadi often as she live nearby in the same township she is a daughter of Ntengwana she can tell alot too. I wish we can meet as the qwathi in huge ceremony to pay homeage….. i like to meet up white people like you who likes to know what i like to know, imvelaphi yam!

        Go to KZN. oNqele = Manqele and Nxele as far as I can tell. Nxele is the progenitor of the Mthethwa clan that King Shaka built the Zulus from. uGondongwane who led it before uShaka also lived in the Eastern Cape when he was escaping his father, UKhayi, who wanted to kill him.         AmaQwathi abizwa ngamaNgadi or Kgadi or Hari as in Kalahari (amaNkala = amaNgala and Hari = Ngadi = Qwathi) all over Africa. For instance, the president of Nigeria is called Buhari. AmaNgadi were ruled by amaNguni. Another way of writing Gadi = Kali (as in Zikhali) = Kai = Kei = Nqayi = Ngqayi = Ncai = Ncinga = Giga = Gega = Kwena = Mangena. You will see that the bulk of Zulu people come from this line of people as Ndlanzi/Nhlanzi/Mhlambi/Mathlaping/Mhlaba/Mahlaba/Saba/Siba/Sheba/Shaba/Chava/Xava/Xaba people, then Mthiyane-Mthania (who KZN is named After in elikaMthaniya) and Cele-Ndosi or KZN Dosini people and their close relatives, Ndobe, Qwabe, Makhanya, Mpondo and Mpondomise or Mthembu people – amaPondomise are called Mthembu in KZN. They are also called Mbuduma or Manala or Ngala or Dlomo or Ndlovu or Jobe or Sithole or AmaThole people. This is by far the largest body of people in South Africa = AmaThembu.

      Dikela = Tshona = Ntshona is a verbal libation of the Magwaza people who make up the Sandile or Mpondo people of the Rharhabe and other groups within the Gazu people of the Sibiya clan.
